Alex WeeAlex joined Frimley Park Hospital in August 2006 as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery.

He completed his specialist orthopaedic training in East Anglia. After which he undertook a subspecialty fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Addenbrookes’ Hospital Cambridge and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore. As a traveling fellow he also trained in foot surgery centres in Minneapolis, USA. He is trained in modern bunion surgery, complex forefoot and hindfoot reconstruction, complex foot trauma, diabetic foot surgery, surgery of the neurological foot, ankle replacements, arthroscopic ankle surgery, minimally invasive foot surgery, and sports injuries of the foot and ankle. In conjunction with an endocrinologist and a vascular surgeon, Alex runs the diabetic orthopaedic foot service at Frimley Park Hospital. This service includes a weekly multidisciplinary ‘one stop’ tissue loss emergency foot clinic, and a monthly combined orthopaedic diabetic foot clinic.

He has been a faculty member on the Oxbridge forefoot reconstruction, Stanmore foot and ankle, and Guildford Arthroscopy courses. He has trained orthopaedic registrars on the East Anglia, Stanmore, and South West Thames training programs, and is involved in the final training of senior foot and ankle fellows on the Surrey Foot and Ankle fellowship program. He chairs the Surrey Ankle Society and has given lectures nationally and internationally. Alex has presented research at the British and American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Societies. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
